In a nutshell, I am a single mom in my mid-thirties who has recently been re-introduced to the dating scene. Remember the old saying, “If I only knew then what I know now…?” Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s crap. It IS now, and I’m none the wiser. Let’s put it this way…The men out there are clearly playing games that are equivalent to X Box 9 (or whatever version they’re currently up to). As for me, I’m more of a Commodore 64 kind of gal. Evidently, I am borderline retarded when it boils down to it. So, that’s where this blog comes from. It’s the willingness to mock myself and others freely. If I do something stupid, damn right you’re going to hear about it. On the flip side, nothing is off limits. You will learn about what’s truly out there trolling in the shadows at your local watering hole. I’ll also throw in some observational humor about day to day life. This Blog is for women and men alike. This is clearly not a how-to guide, rather a ‘If I can do this…so can you’ type of commentary. Men will learn what we really think, and hopefully learn some tips from my ‘why are you such a giant douchebag?’ mentality.

Your brand of sarcastic humor is refreshingly witty, as you maintain an easy going, self-effacing air. I was particularly interested to read your introduction after reading your article, to know that you intended it to be an ongoing commentary. Coincidentally, I also wrote a blog about some of my dating experiences, beginning in 2006, when I was living in Lakewood. Mine was cultivated solely from online dating services, such as match.com, singlesnet.com, etc. I didn’t set out to write a blog about online dating. I already maintain a diary/memoirs, and after so many dates and so many conversations telling me I should write about them, I culled those exerpts from my diary, edited them, and wrote the blog. So, I’m especially interested to read a woman’s point of view on the same topic. Keep up the great writing, Jen!
